What you are configuring
- Record type:
CNAME - Host:
blog(or your chosen hostname in BlogPath) - Points to:
proxy.blogpath.io - TTL: leave default (1 hour is fine)
Steps in IONOS
- Log in → Domains & SSL → select your domain.
- Click DNS.
- Scroll to CNAME records and click Add Record.
- Host name:
blog(or your subdomain). - Points to:
proxy.blogpath.io. - TTL: default.
- Save.
Apex note
IONOS does not allow CNAME at apex. Keep apex A/ALIAS for your main site. Use a subdomain for BlogPath and set the BlogPath fallback origin to your main site to keep non-blog traffic working.
Verify
In BlogPath, open DNS check → Verify. If it fails, remove any existing A/AAAA record on the same host.
